Introduction

When you use our app, you entrust us with your information. We understand that this is a big responsibility and do everything we can to protect your information and give you control.

This privacy policy is intended to inform you about how VTC Taxi collects, uses and protects your personal data during all your interactions with us, via our app and when using our services, including data you provide when you register or when you use other third parties that we use.

The information we collect about you

– Identifiable data: such as your first name, surname, telephone number, username or similar identification, Google or social media accounts and profile photo.

Contact details: such as your email address, billing address, and telephone number. – Financial details: such as your credit card details.

Transaction data: Details of payments and transactions between you and our third-party providers, including card details and other electronic payment information, as well as other payment-related data, to the extent permitted by payment networks and our third-party providers.

Technical data: such as your IP address, login details, device type, language and version, time zone, location, operating system and other technologies on your device that allow you to access our app and services. We use technologies such as unique device identification to identify your device and provide a better experience.

Usage data: information about how you navigate and use our app and services. Our systems may link this personal data to your activities during the provision of the services (such as pages viewed or search results clicked on).

We do not collect special categories of personal data, such as data concerning race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, health, or genetic and biometric data.

We also do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe that we have accidentally collected such information, please contact us so that we can delete it.

How we obtain your personal data and why

Most of the personal data we process is provided directly by you, for example:

  • To register you as a passenger and user of our app.

  • To identify you, so that we can link one or more devices to you and identify the operating system of the device you are using to access the app.

  • To provide our services to you, including determining the price of a journey, matching available drivers with passengers, tracking and sharing journeys, and enabling communication between you and your driver.

  • To send communications via the app about journeys and services provided to passengers and end users.

  • To personalise our services for you; we may store your exact geographical location in your user profile to display specific addresses based on your current location. This information is not typically shared with others.

  • To comply with our legal obligations.

Sharing information with third parties

We may share this information with:

  • Autocab, a SaaS company that facilitates the use of our app and acts as our data processor;

  • Other external service providers who provide services to us that require the processing of personal data;

  • When there is a legal obligation to share data.

Basis for processing personal data

We only process your data if there is a valid legal basis and this is necessary. This may be:

  • Your consent, which is requested clearly and unambiguously. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

  • The performance of a contract to which you are or have been a party.

  • For our legitimate interests (or those of third parties), provided that your interests and fundamental rights do not override them.

  • For the protection of vital interests.

  • For compliance with the law or legal obligations.

Your rights regarding data protection

  • Right of access: you may request copies of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: you may have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data supplemented.

  • Right to erasure: in certain cases, you may request that your data be erased. This is not an absolute right; sometimes we are required to retain data due to legal obligations.

Storage of personal data

Data may be stored or processed on computers in any country where we operate. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorised access or disclosure. Payment details are encrypted when transmitted. However, no security measures are completely foolproof.

When transferring data to a third country, we ensure that this is done in accordance with data protection legislation.

Personal data is retained until you delete it. Personally identifiable information such as your name, address, email address or telephone number is deleted when you delete your account. Other data may be retained for longer.
